Life interning at Street Child Barcelona

Who are we?

We are the operational headquarters of the independent European branch of the Global Street Child network. Each intern in our office represents a specific country that we work in. At the moment we work out of eight European counties: Italy, France, Deutschland , Nederland, Norden, Espana, Switzerland, Danmark.

Our philosophy

Our team is comprised of energetic and likeminded young students and graduates. For our interns this will often be their first professional experience. Even in this case, our interns are given important responsibilities and the opportunity to propose their new ideas. For this reason we are always looking for people who are self-motivated, pro-active and innovative, with the ability to use their initiative and work independently. We also seek those with a strong interest in the non-profit sector and in Street Child’s mission. Finally, a willingness to be flexible, have fun and enjoy a laugh with the team is essential!

What we do in Barcelona?

Through fundraising and marketing activities, we raise funds for external projects and spread awareness for Street Child projects in some of the world’s toughest places like Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Nepal. Everyday our team conducts country-based research to find new financial opportunities in the form on donors, foundation, corporate partners. In addition, we design marketing and communication strategies in order to cultivate a unique global identity.

Where we work

Our office is located in the centre of one the most vibrant and diverse cities on earth. We work in a charming office shared with a local radio station. It is a historic building, with panoramic views into La Placa Reial, one of the most popular sites in the centre of Barcelona.
